Carolyn Lou Roll was born in Washington, Indiana, on August 22, 1934. to Arvil Everett Roll and Lula Jane Roll. She was the seventh of ten children. She had two children: Nancy Jane Selig, who passed away in 2023, and Daniel Joseph Lee, who resides in Elkhart, Indiana.

Carolyn attended Elkhart High in Elkhart, Indiana, and worked various retail sales jobs and waitress jobs. She later received her GED and became an optician while living in Kansas, Missouri. She was interested in sewing and playing cards. While living with her older brother, Arvil (Bud) Roll Jr., in high school, she won a State award in Solo Vocal. She returned to Elkhart, Indiana, in her later years of her life to be close to family and was residing at the East Lake Rehabilitation and Nursing when she passed on August 12, 2026. She had 15 grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart, IN. Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Nathan Craig of Highland Park Baptist Church officiating. She will be buried at Chapel Hill Cemetery near her oldest sister, Rose Fields.
