Carol M. Woolet, 81, of Elkhart, passed away in her home following an extended illness at 4:45 a.m. Saturday, March 7.
She was born Oct. 1, 1933, in Edwardsburg, Mich., to the late Ross and Lola (Wolf) Bailey.
She married Norman E. Woolet in Elkhart on April 15, 2005. He survives her at home.
Also surviving are her sons, Greg (Carol) Crowel of Edwardsburg and Dennis and Bill Crowel, both of Elkhart; stepsons David (Lori) Woolet of Richmond, Va., and Monte Woolet of South Bend; stepdaughters Wendy (Gary) Atkison of Mishawaka, Sherry (Walter) Reicold of South Bend and Angela (Roger) Bisson of Granger; brother Bill (Jean) Bailey of Six Lakes, Mich.; sister Nora Holstein of Pinehurst, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.
In accordance with Carol's wishes, cremation has taken place. Her life will be celebrated Friday, March 13, at St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, 226 W. Lexington St., Elkhart, where a memorial requiem Mass will be at 11 a.m. in her honor. Visitation will begin one hour prior and will be in the church's common room. Father Daniel Repp will officiate.
Arrangements have been placed under the care and direction of Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart.
Carol worked at Elkhart's CTS Corp. for nearly 40 years, retiring in 2000. She was also a long-standing member of St. John's as well, having served on the Altar Guild and the Vestry.
She enjoyed traveling, playing golf, working in her flower garden and volunteering at local nursing homes. She will be best remembered for her ability to live each day to the fullest and her strong faith in God.
