Carol Ann Jay, 78, of Elkhart, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Elkhart General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Elkhart, IN on June 7, 1947, to the late Clarence and Clara (Quillo) Eby.

Carol is also preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Michael "Mike" J. Jay; brother, Merlyn G. Eby; sister, Blanche E. Girten; and niece, Cynthia "Cindy" Eby. She is survived by her sons, William "Brad" (Krista) Jay and Matthew R. Jay; daughters, Jennifer L. (Davide) Ivaldi, Amy M. Jay, and Tracy A. (Michael) Sheldon; grandchildren, Christopher, Reagan, and Nora; and nephew, Tim (Karen Palmer) Eby.

In accordance with Carol's wishes, cremation was chosen and will take place at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart, IN. A Mass of a Christian burial will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 1 p.m. with an hour of visitation prior at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1108 S Main St, Elkhart, IN 46516. She will be laid to rest at Prairie Street Cemetery in the veteran's towers following Mass at 2:30 p.m. Donations may be given to John Paul II Medical Research Institute, 250 12th Ave, Suite 150, Coralville, IA 52241.

Carol was a graduate of Elkhart High School in 1965 where she would meet the love of her life, Michael Jay. They were married on September 23, 1967, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Elkhart. Carol loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family immensely. Cooking was her love language, and she enjoyed collecting recipes and cookbooks. Carol will be dearly missed.
