MIDDLEBURY — Carol J. Bachert, 68, of Middlebury, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 28, at Elkhart General Hospital.
Carol was born April 8, 1946, in Nashville, Tenn., to the late Thurman Charles and Bernadene (Swann) Norment.
Carol married David George Bachert on July 1, 1989, in Elkhart.
He survives, as well as two sons, Mike Harrington of Cassopolis, Mich., and Cory Bachert of Goshen; two daughters, Michelle (Alan) Butrick of Jones, Mich., and April Bachert of Indiana; one brother, Tom Norment of Elkhart; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Douglas, William and Edmond Norment, and two sisters, Virginia Hill and Dorothy Frost.
Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, with visitation beginning an hour prior at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. Pastor Bob Vale of Osceola United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Olive (West) Cemetery.
If friends so desire, memorials may be given to United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
