Carmeno "Carmen" Borsa, 93 , of Edwardsburg, MI passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at his home.
He was born on August 6, 1931 in Elkhart, IN to the late, Angelo Antonio Borsa and Paulina (Macari) Borsa. He married the love of his life, Laura Ann (Cooper) Borsa on August 30, 1953 in San Francisco, CA.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Laura on February 1, 2022; son, Christopher Joseph Borsa on July 20, 2019; 2 brothers, Guiseppe and Anthony and 2 sisters, Mary and Dominica.
Carmen is survived by his children, Mark Borsa of Edwardsburg, Mathew (Sherry) Borsa of Edwardsburg, Dennis (Robin) Borsa of Cassopolis; Cathleen (Dan) Locey of Edwardsburg and Julia (David) Howard of Elkhart; 26 grandchildren; and 39 great grandchildren.
He graduated from Edwardsburg High School. He honorably served in the United States Marine Corp.
Carmen was the founding Scout Master of Boy Scout Troup 138 in the mid 1960's.
Carmen was employed at Miles Laboratory for over 30 years from 1963-1995.
In his free time, he was a skilled woodworker. He was an avid gardener and deer hunter in his younger days. Later in life, he enjoyed the quiet solitude of nature.
Carmen was soft spoken, positive (never uttering a complaint) and a kind and patient man. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Visitation will be from 12:00pm to 2:00pm on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514.
Graveside Service with full military will follow on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 2:45pm at Adamsville Cemetery in Edwardsburg, MI. Pastor Jeremy Sarber will officiate and U.S. Marine Corp, Elkhart Marine Corp League and VFW Post 2284 will perform military honors.
