UNION, Mich. -- Carl Albert "Butch" McDonald, aged 70, of Union, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2009, in Elkhart General Hospital.
Butch was born on Aug. 8, 1938, in Elkhart, Ind., to the late Albert Wesley and Marilyn Wave (Monroe) McDonald.
Carl was a bachelor and was preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur McDonald; his sister, Marilyn McDonald; and two nieces, Diana Gary and Karen Bell.
Carl (or Butch as he was known) lived in the Chicago area for many years where he worked doing various jobs. He then moved to Union in 1987 where he lived with James and Pamela McDonald and their two children, Natasha and Corey.
Leaving behind to miss him are several nieces and nephews, James (Pamela) McDonald, Robert (Rene) McDonald, Ray (Penny) McDonald, Debra (Charles) Tom and Sharon McDonald, all of Union, John McDonald of Bristol, Ind., and Linda (Tom) Fager, Marcellus.
Visitation will take place at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, on Tuesday, April 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be a 3 p.m. graveside service on Wednesday, April 22, at Bronson (Mich.) Cemetery, where Carl will be laid to rest next to his mother. Pastor Steve Steele of Kessington Community Church will officiate.
