IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bruce Alan
Bradley
March 17, 1940 – January 11, 2023
Bruce A. Bradley, 82, of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January, 11, 2023. Bruce was born March 17, 1940, in Elkhart, IN. He was preceded in death by his father, Lynn G. Bradley, his mother, Mabel (Watkins) Rose, stepfather Robert Cooper, and stepfather, Robert F. Rose, as well as his sister and brother-in-law, Sonia and Keith Campbell. He is survived by his brothers, Jeffrey (Lori) and Lee (Diane), his sister, Mary Anne Neice (Rick), his children, Bruce (Angelene) and Lesley Sopraseuth (Soutsakhone Phoutpannha) , his grandchildren, Anastasia Nolen (Daniel), Moses, Isaac, Augustine, Magdalen, Giles, Frances, Esther, Edith, Jaiden Sopraseuth, Tristan Sopraseuth, Jozeah Phoutpannha, and one great-grandson, Magnus Nolen.
Adventurous in business, Bruce had many jobs and professions throughout his life from auto parts manufacturer; RV, van, and car sales; liquor store owner and operator; and owner and operator of the Golden Spur restaurant, among others. His final professional passion was truck driving, driving "big rigs" for 13+ years until his retirement from P&P Transportation.
Bruce embraced life and had various passions through the years. Early in life, he was interested in motorcycles and later, specifically, Harley Davidson, motorcycles. Taking long motorcycle trips, Bruce connected with the freedom and romance of the motorcycle lifestyle. Later, fishing became a focus of interest for Bruce. Docking a boat with his good friend, Rick Kaiser, on Simonton Lake, Bruce spent many happy hours on this beautiful lake. Lastly, perhaps from his time as a restaurateur, Bruce had a lifelong interest in cooking and grilling, always ready to try a new spice mix, kitchen gadget, or preparation style.
Bruce was actively involved in the life of his family. As a 20-year cancer survivor, Bruce recognized the fragility of life and the limited opportunity that we have to love each other. Bruce was an important part of his grandchildren's lives, whether driving them to school or sports or showing up with chicken and pizza for an entire family dinner. His generosity, and his upbeat, positive attitude, even in the face of adversity, is a lasting legacy that Bruce has passed on to his children and grandchildren alike.
On January 21, 2023, a public visitation will be held at 11 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 12 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St, Elkhart, IN 46514.
