ELKHART - Brian Lee Kindig, 42, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, March 12 after a sudden illness at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born on May 21, 1974 in Goshen to James R. and Sandra (Harley) Kindig, They survive as well as 5 siblings, Kathy (Amos) Caudill, Tamara (Juan) Gonzalez, Brenda (Stephen Webb) McGuire, Anthony "Tony" (Nola) Whiting, Andrew (Beth) Kindig; grandmother Joyce Schaffer; also several nieces, nephews and family. Brian was preceded in death by grandparents, Berdine Fee, Galen Harley, sister Jacqline Kindig and niece Anastasia Magana. Brian was a 1993 ECHS graduate and received his AA in graphic art and management from Ferris State University. Brian worked as a teacher's aide for 10 years at Mary Beck Elementary School with the ESL program, he formerly worked at Taco Bell, Ponderosa, and was an Elkhart Truth newspaper carrier. He loved animals, computers, and was a member of the Elkhart and St. Joseph Co. Rifle and Pistol Clubs. Friends and family will be received on Saturday, March 18, from 11 to 2 PM at Billings Funeral Home, with a remembrance celebration service beginning at 2 PM. His uncle John "Jack" Fee will officiate. Cremation will follow. Please direct donations to Brian's family.
