Brenda Sue Risner, 77, of Elkhart, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Goshen Hospital.

Brenda was born on July 21, 1943 to the late Jack Grisham and Vernice (Thompson) Grisham in Florence, AL. She is married to the love of her life, James Risner on January 10, 1965 in Elkhart. Brenda is preceded in death by her son, Roger Dale Scott; brother, Jerry Grisham; sister, Marjorie McIntyre and brother-in-law, Aubrey McMullan Jr.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 56 years, James Risner of Elkhart; children, Mickey (Cindy) Scott of Syracuse, IN and daughter, Lisa Salyer of Elkhart; daughter-in-law, Joan Scott of Elkhart; 2 sisters, Sharon McMullan and Janice (Dale) Harrison both of Florence, AL; 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Brenda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her vegetable garden and canning. Brenda also read newspapers in her spare time. She was a huge George Jones fan and Alabama Crimson Tide fan. Most of all, family was everything and she loved having get-togethers with all the grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service for Brenda will be on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 1:00pm at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514 with Pastor Jeremy officiating. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the start of service from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery.
