Brenda Sue Hout, 67, of Elkhart, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Hellenic Senior Living.  She was born in Cheyenne, WY on December 11, 1957, to the late Lanny Riddle and Judith (Zeigler) Riddle-Kern.

Brenda is also preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Bruce W. Hout. She is survived by her son, Nathan Michael Riddle; stepdaughters, Dawn Hout and Brandi Hout; siblings, Cindy Stutzman-Haskell and Daniel R. (Becky) Riddle; as well as grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Cremation was chosen and will take place at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart, IN. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date where she will be laid to rest at Rice Cemetery with her husband, Bruce. In lieu of flowers, please donate a tree in Brenda's memory.

Brenda grew up in the South Bend and Osceola area. She graduated from Penn High School and later worked in the RV industry as a secretary. In later years, she would move on to work in the shipping department at the warehouse. Brenda loved to have fun and had a witty sense of humor. In her earlier years, she loved to sing and dance to anything on the radio. Brenda was a great cook and enjoyed making Thanksgiving dinners for her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, especially when she could curl up with a good romance novel. Brenda will be dearly missed.
