ELKHART — Brenda Louise Hilson, 73, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at the Center for Hospice Care in Elkhart on Wednesday, April 18, 2018.

She was born April 29, 1944, in Frankfort, Kentucky, to the late Claude and Ruby (Rhem) Duff Sr.

She later married Jackie Hilson on Nov. 6, 1965, in Frankfort. He survives at home.

Also surviving are her children, Barbara (Tony) Coleman, Ruby Duff and Michael, Jacqueline, Tony, and Julius Hilson; grandchildren Jermael "JC" (Caroline) Calhoun, Tanesha (Christopher) Scott, Shawn (Amanda) and Jeremy Watson, Aubrey (Pascual) Minies, Antwon, Jenay, Vanessa, Andre and Trai Hilson, Jesse and Darius Bloch, Tiffanii (Antonio) Willis; and 32 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda J. Johnson.

Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart will host Brenda's service at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, with visitation beginning at 4 p.m.

Brenda worked for many years as a Juvenile Probation Officer for Elkhart County and was also head of housekeeping for Elkhart's Quality Inn for a time.

She loved music, decorating, spending time with her grandchildren and, especially, shopping.
