Obituary
ELKHART — Brenda K. Geairn, 52, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday, May 24, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 22, 1963, in Elkhart, to Elzy A. and Juanita (Colwell) Sweeten.
Survivors include her husband, James E. Geairn Jr. of Elkhart; three sons, Scott Howard Sweeten of South Bend, James Edward Geairn III of Elkhart and Westley Cole Geairn of Elkhart; mother and stepfather Juanita (Bill) Tripp of Elkhart; one half sister, Telenna Cofield; and one brother, Elzy J. Sweeten of New Albany.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Brenda was an avid animal lover of all types and spent many years rescuing wild or injured animals.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, celebration of life service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor Victor Burson will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Elkhart County in memory of Brenda.
