ELKHART — Brenda Lou Garner, 69, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at Golden Living Center in Elkhart.
She was born May 30, 1944, in Borger, Texas, to Charles and Helen (DeGraff) Diese.
On July 4, 2002, she married the late Patrick B. Garner in Elkhart. He passed away Nov. 15, 2005.
Survivors include a half-sister, Linda Jones of Idaho Falls, Idaho; half-brother Charles Ray (Elizabeth) Diese of Abilene, Texas; stepbrother Ronnie (Charlotte) Diese of Westbrook, Texas; stepson Brian (Lisa) Garner of Elkhart; three grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; special friends Lester Holley of Elkhart and Terry and Diana Staley, both of Elkhart.
A visitation will be for one hour prior to the 5 p.m. memorial service Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at New Testament Bible Church, 29718 C.R. 18, Elkhart. Pastor Terry Staley will officiate. Cremation will take place and her cremated remains will be buried in Texas at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Testament Bible Church, Warm a Heart Project.
