Brenda Lou Caraway, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at her home following an extended illness on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019 at 11:17 am.
She was born in Salyersville, KY on Oct. 31, 1957 to the late Warrick and Sally (Fletcher) Gipson.
Surviving are daughters Revia (Jason Watson) Layman and Sally Gipson; sisters Sue (Brian) Shimkus, Evette (Charlie) Vititoe and Syvanna Gipson; brothers Howard, Danny, Kendall (Rebecca), Marty, Warick (Jennifer) and Tony (Angela) Gipson; grandchildren Austin (Julie) Fletcher, Adam and Trevor Layman and Aaliyah Naya and four great grandchildren. A brother, Jimmy Gipson and a grandson, Kyle Layman precede Brenda in death.
Pastors Manny Gonzalez and Robert Lambert, along with the World Harvest Church, 1610 S. Nappanee St. in Elkhart will host a celebration of Brenda's life on Tuesday, Mar. 05, 2019 at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. There will also be a visitation on Monday, Mar. 04, 2019 from 4-8 pm at the church. Burial will follow in Battle Creek (MI) Memorial Park Cemetery, and Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been assisting the family.
Brenda was a Pentecostal Evangelistic Minister who enjoyed attending church and meeting, befriending and sharing the Gospel with all whom she met. She was part of the Outreach Program, which always gave her an opportunity to find "someone to love." She lived life to the fullest and will be best remembered for her joyful willingness to share and witness for Jesus.
Memorial donations may be given to the Brenda L. Caraway Memorial Fund, c/o her daughter, Revia.
