Bonnie J. Geerts, 74, of Elkhart, passed away at Elkhart General Hospital on Friday, Aug. 31, 2018.

She was born in Sturgis, MI on Apr. 4, 1944 to the late Delmar Went. Sr. and Bonnie (Gerring) Zook.

Surviving is husband Larry; sons Robert (Sheri) and Scott Dorrier; step-son Robert (Debbie) Geerts, step-daughter Anne (Larry) Skinner; grandchildren ShyAnne, Austin and Alexander Dorrier; 3 step and 6 step great grandchildren. She is preceded by a brother, Delmar Went, Jr.

A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, Sept. 6, from 4-6 pm. at Billings Funeral Home. Cremation was chosen with burial at Rice Cemetery at a later date.

Bonnie formerly worked at NIBCO, the Salvation Army and Goodwill. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, Ladies auxiliary of the American Legion, and Life member of the VFW Ladies Axillary.  She loved visiting with friends at Martin's over coffee and to the Moose Lodge on Friday nights.
