Bonnie Lou Davis Gipson, 90, of Elkhart, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Elkhart Medows. She was born in Wawaka, IN on August 28, 1933, to the late Ernest T. Gerkin and Margaret M. (Poyser) Moore.

Bonnie is also preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" C. Gipson; children, Richard Carl Ogle Jr. and Terry Ogle; grandson, Devon Davis; brother, Ernest "Ted" Gerkin; and sister, Donna Newman. She is survived by her children, Jonathan "Jon" (Jen) Davis, Lucinda "Cindy" (Denise) Ogle-Hall, Paula Davis; stepdaughter, Fonda Reagan; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

Visitation for Bonnie will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 2-3 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart. A celebration of life service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeremy Sarber officiating. Memorial donations may be given to Alzheimers Association, 50 E. 91 St. Ste 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240.

Bonnie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family meant the world to her. She worked for several years at Electromation before retiring in 1996 and was a member of That Church on the Rise in Elkhart. In her early years, Bonnie loved to travel with her family. She traveled around the United States but was able to travel outside the U.S to Jamaica and Iseral. However, her favorite state to visit was Florida. Bonnie enjoyed vacationing there with her family.

Baking and cooking were Bonnie's favorite past times. She made the best homemade noodles around and the most scrumptious pies. Every holiday, Bonnie did her best to make a special pie for each of her children; whatever flavor they wanted. She even had a special Wacky Cake family recipe that she taught many of the women in her family. Bonnie will be dearly missed.
