ELKHART — Bonnie A. "Babe" Kulp, 86, of Elkhart, went home to be with her heavenly father on Thursday, March 29, 2012, while at her residence.
She was born March 12, 1926, in Ligonier to Roy E. and Fern (Hostetler) Emmitt. On Aug. 18, 1944, she married Clyde A. "Al" Kulp in Warsaw. He survives at home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Kay Lynn (James) Gillespie of Union, Mich., and Brenda Sue (Clay) Collins of Elkhart; son Dennis (Kathleen) Kulp of Elkhart; two sisters, Phyllis Shaum of Goshen and Joann Anderson of Florida; two brothers, Charles (Delores) Emmitt of Florida and Tim (Marsha) Emmitt of Chicago; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Babe attended Goshen High School and later was a graduate of Vogue Beauty College in South Bend. She spent more than 40 years working as a beautician prior to her retirement in 1982. She loved spending time with her family and being near the water. She was a former member of Penitas Baptist Church in Penitas, Texas, and attended Winding Waters Brethren Church in Elkhart.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date.
