In Loving Memory of Bonnell Harper
Bonnell Harper, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, at the age of 83.
She was born on March 21, 1943, in Elkhart, Indiana, to Anna M. Harris (Williams) and Ray Glend.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Deidra Harper; her mother and stepfather, Anna M. Williams and Ollie P. Williams; and her father, Ray Glend.
She is survived by her two children, Kimberly A. Harper of Washington, DC, and Byron Harper and his wife, Emily, of Belgium; her two grandsons, Christopher Harper and Marcelo Harper; her granddaughter, Zoey Harper; her siblings, Ray Glend and Paula Williams-Norman; her uncle, Ernest Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Bonnell devoted her career to caring for others as a Registered Nurse and educator for the State of California. Bonnell retired from the State of California as a state 'Health Facilities Evaluator.' Throughout her life, she touched countless lives through her compassion, dedication, and willingness to serve others.
She will be remembered for her kindness, strength, humor, generosity, wisdom, faith, determination, laughter, and unwavering love for her family.
Her children and grandchildren affectionately knew her as "Bird," a nickname that reflected the special bond they shared and one that will forever bring cherished memories.
Although we mourn her passing, we celebrate a life well lived and the love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the family she loved so deeply.
