ELKHART -- Bobby Allen Whybrew, 56, of 28313 C.R. 20 W., died at 7:59 a.m. Wednesday (April 25, 2007) in Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis, after complications from surgery.

He was born Aug. 26, 1950, in Elkhart to Donald R. and Rosemary C. (Brewer) Whybrew.

He is survived by one son, Dale A. Whybrew of Elkhart; two grandsons; one sister, Linda R. (Donald) Gibson of Elkhart; his father, of LaGrange; and two half-brothers, Phillip Whybrew of Osceola and Mark Whybrew of Granger.

Also surviving is his former wife and mother of his son, Dale, Vickie Perkins of Elkhart.

He was preceded in death by his mother; his stepfather, Harell Brewer; and a sister, Tina Bailey.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the 1 p.m. Tuesday funeral service, all at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor Dale Turner will officiate. Burial in Adamsville Cemetery in Michigan will follow services.

Mr. Whybrew was a warranty and parts coordinator at Forest River of Elkhart for more than 10 years, but in the 1970s and 1980s, he owned his own construction company. He was an accomplished carpenter and woodworker who enjoyed fishing and bowling with his family. He also played guitar in his earlier years with a country-western band that toured the Michiana area. He enjoyed Mel Tillis and Hank Williams Jr., and also enjoyed collecting movie videos and DVDs.
