DOWAGIAC, Mich. — Bobby Wayne Jackson, 73, of Dowagiac, passed away Tuesday morning, Dec. 10, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 6, 1940, in Portageville, Mo., to the late Raymond Lloyd and Asia Lee (Ballard) Jackson.
He married Joyce Irene Wilcuit on Nov. 1, 1969, in Niles. She passed away July 19, 2012.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Joyce, a daughter, Cheryl L. Sink; grandchildren Samantha L. Sink and Matthew C. Wilkey; and sister Sharon Lintz preceded him in death.
Surviving are his children, Sherree Wilkey of Elkhart, Ind., Sherrie (David) York of Buchanan, Robert Jackson of Dowagiac and Daniel Moore of Niles. Six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother Jimmy (Rosemary) Jackson of Niles and sister Patti (Mike) Funk of Pensacola, Fla., also survive.
Bobby was a retired supervisor with Tyler Refrigeration Corp. in Niles. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and camping. He was a member of Four Flags Snowmobile Club in Niles. He loved to tinker around in his garage and was a "Mr. Fixit."
Services to celebrate Bobby's life will be at noon Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at Hope Community Church, 2390 Lake St., Niles. Pastor Mike Smith will officiate.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family asks that you kindly omit flowers, and requests memorials be shared with the church.
