Obituary

Billie LaDelle Malott, 94, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at her home.

Billie was born on October 18, 1931 in Holland, MI to the late Joseph Sisson and Harriet Louise (Smith) Sisson.

She was married to first husband and father of her children, Charles Firestone and later her second husband, Charlie Malott. Both whom have passed.

Billie is preceded in death by her son, Charles “Rusty” Firestone; brother, Thomas Sisson and sister, Bonnie Finkler.

Billie is survived by her daughters, Sandra “Sandie” Briggs and Theresa Firestone, both of Elkhart; sisters, Mary Ann (John) Meyer of Hudson, WI and Vicki (George) Leone of Appleton, WI; 2 grandsons, Jacob E. Wolgamood (Noelle Hochstetler) and Jason Blevins (Erika Stiles); step daughter, Monica Finlayson and stepson, Charles (Cindi) Malott; and several nieces and nephews.

Billie retired from Miles Laboratory, where she began on the line and worked up to become a lab technician. She was also employed at Cottage Inn where she met her husband Charlie, as well as Wilts.

A devoted Catholic, Billie was a longtime parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. She faithfully volunteered with funeral luncheon groups, the Rosary Society, and was known for making cookies for the Rosary Club.

Billie enjoyed gathering monthly with her “Dine Around Group” at the local restaurants. In her spare time, she loved traveling, crocheting, and ceramics. Much like her Wisconsin family, she was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.

Billie had a generous spirit, a kind heart, and always did the best she could for those she loved. Her family meant everything to her, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her family would like to thank the Center for Hospice Care for their love and support during a difficult time.
