She was born Sept. 15, 1922, in Elkhart to Joseph and Mabel (Bumbus) Dusek. She married Eugene J. Spencer on June 28, 1945, in Logansport. He died June 20, 1996.
Mrs. Spencer is survived by one son, Joe (Nancy) Spencer of Noblesville; one daughter, Diane (Nicholas) Burakow of Fairfax Station, Va.; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Jo Lamb and Judy (Russell) Cripe, both of Elkhart.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sasha Burakow.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, where a vigil service will be at 2:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with the Rev. Bill Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in Rice Cemetery, Elkhart.
Mrs. Spencer was a 1940 graduate of Elkhart High School and attended Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame. She was a homemaker and formerly worked as a supervisor key punch operator at Selmer Co., Elkhart. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. She enjoyed quilting and playing cards. She played in the same bridge group for more than 50 years.
