She was born June 5, 1940, in Door County, Wis., to Daniel and Frances (Frasier) Carlson. She married Donald Jensen, and the couple later divorced. On March 28, 1990, she married Malcolm H. Smith. He died Nov. 5, 1999.

She is survived by one son Mark D. (Kelly) Jensen of Granger; two daughters, Ellen Jensen of Minneapolis and Diana (Jorge) Jimenez of Downers Grove, Ill.; one brother, John (Donna) Carlson of Sister Bay, Wis.; one sister, Clare Minzer of Simi Valley, Calif.; and her former husband, Donald Jensen of Newport Ritchie, Fla.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Marjorie Hayes; and two brothers, Allen and Willard Carlson.

Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Grace Bible Church, 54230 C.R. 5, where the memorial service will take place at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Mike Fisher of Grace Bible Church officiating. Further visitation will follow the service until 4 p.m. Cremation has taken place.

Mrs. Smith worked as a receptionist and secretary for Kevco and Scripture Press. She worked in the home decorating department at JoAnn Fabrics. She also had her own sewing and alterations business where she made wedding dresses, custom draperies and home decor. She especially enjoyed sewing for friends and family, clothes for the grandchildren, table linens and any projects that involved fabric. She had an eye for design and beauty, as seen in her many oil paintings.
