ELKHART -- On Monday, March 7, 2011, at 9:35 p.m., Beverly Mae Odell, 90, of Elkhart, and formerly of Union, Mich., went to her rest in the loving arms of her heavenly father, whom she loved with all her heart, mind and soul.
She was born March 28, 1920, in Elkhart to the late Austin and Daisy (Kline) Holtzinger. Beverly married George Adams Odell on Aug. 13, 1938, in Mason Township, Mich. He passed away March 22, 2008.
Surviving are her daughters, Sandra (Charles) Weaver of Nixa, Mo., Carol (Errol) Goins of Glenrock, Wyo., and Nancy Odell of Elkhart; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; as well as a brother Paul (Doris) Holtzinger of Elkhart; and a sister, Donna (George) Briesacker of Sopchoppy, Fla.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Holtzinger.
Beverly was a homemaker and a member of Chapel Hill Missionary Church in Union. She loved flowers, gardening and many more crafts. She was also quite the cook.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2011, at Chapel Hill Missionary Church, 14525 Chapel Hill St., Union, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Pastor Ken Bontrager and Pastor Floran Mast will officiate with burial to follow in Plum Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the church or Feed the Children, P.O. Box 36, Oklahoma City, OK 73101.
Beverly was grateful for the life she lived, and the example she set will be a legacy forever cherished by all her friends and family.
