She was born Sept. 29, 1935, in South Bend to Charles R. and Kathryn B. (Williams) Freshour Sr.

Ms. Marvel is survived by one son, Gary (Amy) Marvel of Mishawaka; two daughters, Vickie (Bruce) Gowdy and Kathleen (Brian) Hinegardner, both of Elkhart; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Freshour Jr.

Friends may call one hour prior to Saturday's 1 p.m. funeral service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. The Rev. Keith McFarren of Faith United Methodist Church, South Bend, will officiate. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.

Ms. Marvel was most recently employed at Michiana Real Estate Rentals and had worked at Bennett's Truck Transport and American First Aid. She was a graduate of John Adams High School, South Bend, and a member of the Elkhart Moose Lodge.
