ELKHART -- Beverly Jean Fager, 77, of Elkhart, died at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 8, 2010) at Miller's Merry Manor, Syracuse.

She was born Dec. 12, 1932, in South Bend, to Telford and Ruth (Brittain) Funnell. On Nov. 11, 1950, she married Roy V. Fager in Elkhart. He died Jan. 9, 1968.

Mrs. Fager is survived by two sons, Dave (Kim) Fager of Elkhart, and Gary Fager of Mishawaka; two daughters, Vickie Fager and Gayle (Rick) Hosler, both of Elkhart; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald and Larry Funnell, both of South Bend; and two sisters, Jackie Myers of Osceola and Betty (Loren) Ditsch of Covina, Calif.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Dale and Robert Fager.

Mrs. Fager worked at Fountainview Nursing Home and for WNIT-TV. She was a 1950 graduate of John Adams High School, South Bend. A devoted mother and excellent grandmother, she loved to collect owls and all things owl-related.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Monday celebration service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery, Goshen.
