Ms. Beverly Jean "Bev" Wilson, 89, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully of natural causes at Elkhart General Hospital on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 8:55 pm.

She was born on August 9, 1934 in New Paris to the late Carl A. and Ruth (Adams) Wilson and was the loving sister Carol A. Warlick and Phyllis A. (John) Crabtree, both of Elkhart, and 9 nieces and nephews and their families. Also included among her survivors are a host of extended family and friends. Bev is preceded in death by brothers Phillip and Herschel Wilson.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation is to take place with a burial later at Five Points Cemetery near Edwardsburg, Michigan. Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart has been assisting Bev's family with arrangements.

Although Bev remained single throughout her life, she lived at the family home and raised four generations of Wilsons over a period of about 50 years. She was everyone's quintessential "mom" and was most comfortable and happy with her ability to run an efficient and happy household. She loved and doted over her family, especially all of her nieces and nephews and THEIR children and channeled her devotion toward her family with wonderfully cooked meals, supreme no-bake cookies and the best sweet tea this side of the County line! And not only did she keep the "home fires" burning, but she attended just about every play, concert, ball game, recital and other school activity in support of her family. She was everyone's biggest cheerleader and blessed them throughout the years with her grace and beautiful dignity.

In her free time, she loved to tackle a crossword or a puzzle book and cuddle up to a good episode of The Golden Girls.
