Betty "Nana" Viola Griffin, 95, of Elkhart, went home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at her home.

Betty was born on August 3, 1930 in Elkhart, IN to the late Lawrence and Nettie Dorrier. She married the love of her life, Ernie L. Griffin on November 11, 1946. He passed away on March 13, 1999.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Ernie, son Glenn "Doc" (Linda) Griffin and sister, Edna Allen.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Penny Griffin of South Bend; beloved grandchildren, Danielle Rop, Keith (Nikki) Griffin and Diane Barnett; great grandchildren, Tyler (Karlee) Rop, Caroline Barnett, Briggs Griffin, Gates Griffin and Lily Barnett; and great great grandchildren, Amelia Rop, and Logan and Ethan Brown and daughter-in-law, Linda Griffin.

Betty was a circuit board assembler at Miles Laboratory for many years. She also worked at Ziesels Department Store in Elkhart, and was a cake decorator at DeBoni's Bakery.

Betty was a member of the Elkhart Women of the Moose and the Quarter Century Club at Bayer. She was a faithful member of Jamestown United Methodist Church as well.

In her spare time, Betty enjoyed crocheting and knitting afghans, slippers and doilies. She enjoyed giving handmade gifts to family and friends.

Betty loved her family very much. She supported all her grandchildren in their activities and was their biggest supporter.

Betty was a loving, caring and selfless lady.

There will be a Funeral Service for Betty at 12:00 pm on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514 with Pastor Jeremy Sarber officiating.

Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the funeral home.

Entombment and committal prayers will follow at Rice Cemetery.
