ELKHART -- Betty Louise Vincent, 70, of Elkhart, died at 11:23 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 14, 2008) in Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 30, 1938, in Elkhart to Robert and Gertrude (Anderson) Huffman. In November 1974 she married Walter Lee "Walt" Vincent in Elkhart. He died July 6, 2008.
Mrs. Vincent is survived by one son, Scott DeVore of Elkhart; one daughter, Susan (Mark) Sigman of Elkhart; one stepdaughter, Sherri (Gene) Chandler of Elkhart; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her mother of Elkhart; four brothers, Robert, Jack, Roy and Richard (Jenny) Huffman, all of Elkhart; and four sisters, Mary (Robert) Allen, Connie Christy, Vickie Ide and Barb Waterman, all of Elkhart.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter; one brother, Frank Huffman; and an infant sister, Bonnie Huffman.
Mrs. Vincent had assembled flutes for United Musical Instruments and had worked at Gemeinhardt Co. and Phillips Industries. She was a member of DAV Chapter 19 Ladies Auxiliary, Women of the Moose 599 in Elkhart and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Elkhart Aerie, where she enjoyed bowling. She enjoyed visiting Blue Chip Casino and going to Las Vegas.
Friends may call from noon until the 2 p.m. Monday funeral service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor Carl E. Henry of Northside Baptist Church will officiate. A graveside service will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
