ELKHART -- Betty L. Rose, 76, of Elkhart, died at 9:10 a.m. Tuesday (Nov. 3, 2009) in her son's home.

She was born Oct. 21, 1933, in Wabash to Austin G. and Wilma (Hummer) Talbert. On July 5, 1952, she married Kenneth E. Rose in Hernando, Miss. He died Nov. 8, 2006, in Elkhart.

Mrs. Rose is survived by one son, Kevin A. (Tracy) Rose of South Bend; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard (Judy) Talbert of Monticello; and two sisters, Shirley Gross of St. Louis, Mo., and Nellie (Phil) Thornton of Elkhart.

An infant son, Kenneth Rose, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Rose was an accountant at Talbert Manufacturing for 15 years. She retired after 18 years of service as the office manager at EFP Corp., Elkhart. She enjoyed quilting, painting, reading, miniature dollhouses, music and playing the organ.

There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Rice Cemetery, Elkhart. The Rev. Brian G. Grantz of the Cathedral of St. James, South Bend, will officiate. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is assisting with arrangements.
