MIDDLEBURY — Betty Pratt, 88, of Middlebury, passed away Sept. 8 in her residence.
She was born June 5, 1926, in Bedford, England, to Sydney and Elise (Keep) Parker.
On March 21, 1951, she married her husband of 63 years, William R. Pratt of Middlebury.
In addition to her husband, other survivors include one daughter, Lisa (James) Mast of Nappanee; one son, Tim Pratt of Middlebury; two sisters, Marie Ingle of Eaton Socon, England, and Jose Goodman of Kent, England; four grandchildren, Nicole Mast of Nappanee and Danielle Pratt, Cameron Pratt and Adam Moore, all of Middlebury; and two great-grandchildren, Katie and Max Malate, both of Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Jean Fleming; and two brothers-in-law, Roy Fleming and Roy Ingle.
Betty was employed as a librarian at the Middlebury Library for many years.
She was a member of St. John of the Cross Episcopal Church and was in the Altar Guild for 25 years, the Middlebury Garden Club for 40 years and was a member of the Middlebury Friends of the Library for 25 years.
The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, celebration of life service at St. John of the Cross Episcopal Church, 601 E. Vistula St., Bristol. Father Henry Randolph will officiate. Interment of her cremated remains will take place at a later date in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice, the Middlebury Public Library or the Middlebury Garden Club, in memory of Betty.
