ELKHART -- Betty Louise Kettering, 85, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2010, at 2:18 a.m. at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born on June 27, 1925, in Denver, to Andrew Frederick and Marjorie Mason (Fowler) Shaw. On Jan. 3, 1945, she married Donald Dewitt Kettering in Denver. He passed away Jan. 19, 2000.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen (Arlee) Taylor of Englewood, Colo., and Denise (Dennis) McOwen of Elkhart; two sons, Kent (Patricia) Kettering of Broomfield, Colo., and Glenn (Maria) Kettering of Arizona; brother Allen (June) Shaw of Marietta, Ga.; sister Marjorie Fisher of Broomfield, Colo.; nine grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Embroiderer's Guild of America. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, quilting and spending time with her family.
A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday (July 8, 2010) at 11 a.m. at Sermon on the Mount Chapel at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary, 3003 Benham Ave., Elkhart.
