ELKHART — Betty Jane David, 82, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Golden Living Center in Elkhart.
She was born Dec. 12, 1929, in Elkhart to Michael C. and Nancy (Eitel) Darrigan.
On Oct. 4, 1969, she married Calvin M. David Sr. in Elkhart. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2009.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl (Timothy) Hoffman of Elkhart and Kelly Stark of Elkhart; stepdaughter Mary Jane (David) Emmerick of Fort Garland, Colo.; stepson Calvin M. (Deborah) David Jr. of Port Charlotte, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Tiffany Stark, Christopher Stark and Kylee Oakley, all of Elkhart.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Betty was employed at Taylor Products and ILC Products Company/Patrick Industries for many years. She attended Word of Life Fellowship in Elkhart.
Betty enjoyed bowling, playing pinochle, reading mystery novels and especially making quilts for her grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be one hour prior to the 1 p.m. memorial service Monday, May 21, 2012, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin Street, Elkhart. Dr. James J. Young of Word of Life Fellowship Church will officiate. Interment of her cremated remains will follow in Rice Cemetery.
