Betty Lois (Cavender) Utt, 69, of Bristol, and formerly of Elkhart, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the home of her son Edward C. Hayes. Betty was born on December 12, 1952 in Elkhart to the late Freddie and Frances (Looney) Cavender. She married Robert Lee "Bob" Utt on January 25, 1981. Bob died August 22, 2019. Surviving are her children, Larry Jackson (Tina) Hayes, Edward Clay (Tracy) Hayes, Renea (Ron) Covington, stepdaughters, Michelle R. (Doug) Smith, Duwana (Randy) Bivens, and stepson Heath R. (Krystal) Utt, seventeen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren; also, her brother LaMar (Barb) Cavender; and sister Fay (David) Wiseman, survive as well.

In addition to her parents and husband Bob, sisters, Laney C. Linville and Fredleen Cavender preceded her in death.

Betty worked as a self-employed accountant. She was a devoted mom and grandmother, her family and grandchildren were always first in her life, and she did everything she could to make sure they had what they needed, no matter how hard it was, she was there for her family.

Christmas was her favorite time of year, she loved to cook, especially Christmas meals. Betty would call her son at the first snow of every year so they could watch it together. She and Bob relished long lazy drives up the coast of Lake Michigan to watch the sunset. Betty loved flowers, especially daisies, and enjoyed camping with her family.

Services celebrating the life of Betty L Utt will begin at 2:00 Wednesday, with visitation from Noon (12'o'clock) until service time on August 24, 2022 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. Pastor Jeremy Sarber will officiate. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
