Betsy Jean Corbit, 53, formerly of Elkhart, passed away after a courageous battle with Cancer on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at The Center for Hospice, Esther House in Elkhart.

Betsy was born in Elkhart, IN on April 25, 1970 to the late Donald and Eleanora (Shaffer) Stouder. She is married to Danny Corbit Jr., in 2019 whom survives.

Betsy is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Eleanora and brother, Rick Stouder.

Betsy is survived by her husband, Danny Corbit of Cassopolis, MI; her children, Brett (Emily) Bridenthal of Elkhart, Bethany Bridenthal of Middlebury, IN, Kody Corbit of Cassopolis, MI; Bobby Bridenthal of Marion, IN; granddaughter, Brooklyn; brother, Richard (Nancy) Stouder of Elkhart, Judy (Randy) Bass of Elkhart, Chris (Kim) Davis of Kingman, AZ, and Donna (Mark) Matthews of Bristol, IN.

Betsy graduated from Concord High School in 1988. She was a plastics trimmer with Ameri-kart in Elkhart up until her illness.

Her family was her greatest joy. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and doting grandmother.

Betsy was an excellent cook and baker conjuring up recipes with only the ingredients she had on hand.

In her spare time, she also enjoyed camping and traveling with her family.

Betsy had a personality that would radiate the room. Her sense of humor and outgoing personality will be missed by all that she knew and loved.

A Celebration of life service will be held in the summer. Per her wishes, Betsy will be cremated.
