BERYL W. LOCKE

Oct. 1, 1919 - Nov. 2, 2007

ELKHART -- Beryl W. Locke, 88, of Meadowlark Drive, died at 7:53 a.m. Friday (Nov. 2, 2007) in Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born Oct. 1, 1919, in Fairfield, Ill., to Frank and Ida M. (Attaberry) Locke. He married Lois E. Lange on Dec. 6, 1943, in Pontiac, Ill. She died May 7, 2002.

Mr. Locke is survived by two daughters, Kay Locke of Elkhart and Elaine (Leonard) Jozwiak of Valparaiso; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, identical twin Meryl (Dolores) Locke of Pontiac and Harold (Lucille) Locke of Dwight, Ill.

There will be no visitation. Military graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, with the Rev. Keith McFarren of Faith United Methodist Church, South Bend, officiating. Military services will be rendered by the U.S. Navy Military Burial Detail. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Locke was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran who served on the U.S.S. Louisville. He was a stone cutter for South Bend Monument Co. for more than 20 years and a member of the Mishawaka VFW. He loved being outdoors and camping with family and friends.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
