He was born July 18, 1950, in Bridgman, Mich., to Robert E. and Emma (Unger) Haskins.

He is survived by one son, Bernerd C. "Bernie" Haskins of Elkhart; one sister, Nancy Tennis of Albuquerque, N.M.; and his mother, Emma (Terry) Cleland of Monks Corner, S.C.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford and Dennis Haskins.

Friends may call one hour prior to the 6 p.m. Thursday memorial service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. The Rev. David Hudson, chaplain at Elkhart General Hospital, will officiate. Cremation will take place.

Mr. Haskins had been employed at Damon Corp. before becoming ill. He enjoyed mushroom hunting in Boyne, Mich., fishing, being outdoors, traveling, sporting events, playing pool and spending time with his friends and family. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
