Benjamin "Ben" Thomas Snyder, 40, of Elkhart, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 15, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Elkhart on February 1, 1984, to Lynn Snyder and John Eagen.

Ben is survived by his father, John; uncles, David (Deb) Kelley, Kevin (Stacy) Kelley, Norman (Carol) Kelley, Sonny (Shirley) Kelley, Jerry Snyder; aunts, Carrol Farley and Terri Snyder; and cousins, Cindy (Brad) Novak, Brian (Scott) Cook, Scott Snyder, and Cory Snyder. He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Lynn Snyder and his grandfather Thomas Snyder.

In accordance with Ben's wishes, cremation was chosen. Visitation will take place on Friday, November 29, 2024, from noon to 1 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Bob Van Kempen of St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Bristol officiating. This will be followed by a graveside service at St. Vincent's Cemetery in Elkhart. Memorial donations may be given to Cancer Resources of Elkhart County.

Ben was a kind and caring man with a witty sense of humor. He enjoyed cracking jokes and spending time with his family. Ben worked for Hotel Elkhart as a clerk along with other local hotels in the area. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing video games and watching movies, especially the Rocky Balboa and Friday the 13th films. Ben was also an accomplished black belt who was proud of this achievement. He was also learning to play guitar and speak the Polish language.

Although Ben left us too soon, he knew how much he was loved. Family was very important to him and he was very devoted to his loving mother, whom he has been reunited with. Ben will be greatly missed and he will never be forgotten.
