She was born Oct. 10, 1932, in Elkhart to Dewey and Myrtle (Steele) Maggert. She married Charles W. Tilford on May 30, 1953, and he survives.

Also surviving are five sons, David L. (Nyta) Tilford, Rodney C. (Loretta) Tilford, Gary A. Tilford, Timothy S. (Kerri) Tilford and Marc Tilford, all of Elkhart; two daughters, Mari L. Sibberson of Elkhart and Nancy J. (John) Orth of Sturgis, Mich.; a brother, Robert (Linda) Maggert; and three sisters, Helen (Roby) Russell and Geraldine Schlabaugh, both of Elkhart, and Jean (Harold) Tilford of Three Rivers, Mich.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, two brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. service Friday at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. The Rev. John McClimans of First Church of God in Three Rivers will officiate. Burial will be in Prairie Street Cemetery.

Mrs. Tilford worked at The Paper Depot (W.F. Lily & Co.) for more than 22 years before becoming ill.
