ELKHART -- Barbara A. Stover, 60, of 181 Elkhart Ave., died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday (June 1, 2006) at Nephrology Inc., after an extended illness.

She was born Dec. 28, 1945, in Elkhart to John Robert and Margaret (Windmiller) Helsel.

She is survived by one daughter, Tracy L. (Robert H.) Boles of Elkhart; one brother, Roger A. (Sally) Helsel of Union; her mother, of Elkhart; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father.

A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with visitation one hour prior, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Dale Turner, former pastor at the Osolo Missionary Church, will officiate. Cremation has taken place and burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Stover worked as a title clerk at Pete Fall Ford more than 15 years, but she most recently was employed at Ramco Industries, where she served as a laborer until her health required her early retirement. She was a former member of the Osolo Missionary Church, Elkhart Moose 599, Elkhart DAV Auxiliary 19 and the Zion Grange.

Mrs. Stover was a Dale Jarret (NASCAR #88) fan and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and working jigsaw puzzles. She also liked listening to country music, playing bingo and the occasional visit to the "boat" in Michigan City.
