ELKHART — Barbara A. Roby, 83, of Elkhart, passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, in her residence.
She was born Jan. 6, 1932, in Gary, to Ezekiel and Mildred (Bell) Lee.
Survivors include six daughters, Phyllis Foster of Cleveland, Mildred (James) Benefield of Raleigh, N.C., Carmel (James) Jackson of Shelby, Miss., and Tonda Lewis, Prella (Jeffery) Jackson and Wanda (Michael) Jemison, all of Elkhart; four sons, Cornelius Spann of Cleveland, Dewayne Roby of Ina, Ill., Steven Roby of Michigan City and Keith (Carmella) Roby of Elkhart; 32 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; seven great-great-great-grandchildren; and four great-great-great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace T. Roby Jr.; one sister, Frances Hunt; one brother, Ezekiel Lee Jr.; and two daughters, Joyce Ann Scott and Terressa Spann.
The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the noon Friday, Feb. 20, homegoing service at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 802 W. Garfield Ave., Elkhart. Pastor Christopher Pittman will officiate. Interment will follow in Little Pine Cemetery in Goshen.
