ELKHART — Barb Peek, 82, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, Aug. 30, at Elkhart Hospice House, after an unexpected illness.
She was born Oct. 25, 1931, in Bourbon to Edward and Beatrice (Shumaker) Golden.
She married William C. "Bill" Peek on July 27, 1957, in Elkhart. Bill passed away March 6, 2012.
Surviving are her loving children: sons Rick (Christina) Peek of Elkhart and Dennis Peek of Bradenton, Fla., and daughters Jeri Peek, Jackie Peek, Karen (Dave) Hall, Sharon (Chuck) Van Acker and Linda Liechty, all of Elkhart. Thirteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and her brother, Doug (Louise) Golden of Bremen, survive as well.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, a great-granddaughter, Isabella Peek, and brothers Gary and Robert Golden.
Barb retired from CTS Corp. in Elkhart, where she was a member of the Quarter Century Club. She was a 1951 graduate of Nappanee High School. Barb enjoyed wintering in Florida, and spent her summers at Klinger Lake. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and will be missed by her Yorkie, Tiffany.
Friends and family may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart.. Services celebrating her life will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, at the funeral home. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time. Entombment will follow in Rice Cemetery.
