ELKHART — Barbara J. "Meme" Jester, 67, of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday, June 11, at Elkhart General Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born in Elkhart on June 9, 1947, to Richard and Doris (Maggert) Myers, who survive
On Oct. 30, 1984, she married Lemuel E. Jester, in Elkhart. He preceded her in death in 2004.
Also surviving are her children Chasity "Chas" (Mike) King, Donnie (Patty) Zilm and Lemmy (Aimee) Zilm; sister Carla Everson and brother Richard "Rick" (Terri) Myers; as well as 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at Billings Funeral Home in Elkhart, followed by a funeral at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 18. Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery, Goshen.
Barb was a supervisor for Accessories by Sherwood in Elkhart for over 30 years. She enjoyed cooking and spending her time with her grandchildren and was affectionately known as "Meme" by many.
Memorial donations can be given to Barbara J. Jester Memorial Fund, c/o her daughter, Chasity King.
