ELKHART — Barbara K. Harding, 93, of Elkhart, passed away Monday, April 13, at East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born July 4, 1921, in Lebanon, to John "Glenn" and Ethel (Kreisher) Harding. She was raised in nearby Kirklin.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a long-time companion, Nora Allen of Elkhart.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert and John Harding.

Barbara worked for more than 45 years as a microbiologist at Elkhart General Hospital and later at the South Bend Medical Foundation.

She enjoyed spending time golfing and spending winters at her home in Texas.

The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the 2 p.m. Saturday, April 25, celebration of life service at Saint David's Episcopal Church, 26824 C.R. 4, Elkhart. The Rev. Henry Randolph will officiate.

Cremation will be at Altera Cremation Services. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is entrusted with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Elkhart County or the Alzheimer's Association.
