Barbara A. "Barb" Butzky, 63, of Elkhart, passed away at her home with her family at her side on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011 at 5:56 pm after an extended illness.
She was born on Jan. 15, 1948 in Macomb, IL to the late Kenneth and Dorothy (Utley) Thompson.
Surviving is a daughter, Kelly J. (Wallace A. "Tony") Henderson of Elkhart, a son, James D. Butzky of Manchester, MI, two sisters, Marryanne Jones of Rochester, MN and Christine Ward of Elvaston, IL, four brothers, Robert (Carolyn) Thompson of Opalocka, FL, Kenneth (Sharron) Thompson of Lewiston, IL, Thomas Thompson of Hamilton, IL, Jeff (Marilyn) Thompson, Bushnell, IL, and six grandchildren. She was also preceded by a sister, Jane Thompson and her beloved Cocker Spaniel sidekick, "Anna".
In accordance with Barb's wishes, no services have been scheduled and cremation has taken place. A memorial celebration is planned for a later date. Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart has been assisting the family with arrangements.
Barb worked as a cook and a baker at the former Polly's Bakery (now known as Country Fresh Market) in Chelsea, MI. for many years. She was an avid fan of Johnny Depp movies as well as classic horror films. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was quite the animal lover.
Memorials may be given to the Barbara A. Butzky Memorial Fund, c/o her daughter, Kelly J. Henderson.
