Barbara "Barb" Ann (Wilson) Burkey, 78, of Bristol, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at her home. She was born on September 27, 1944, in Cassopolis, MI, to the late Donald and B. Nadine (Hiatt) Wilson.

Barb is survived by her daughters, Rita Burkey Chute and Lori Ann (Steve) Reynolds; grandchildren, Connor and Lindsay Reynolds; siblings, Janice "Puda" (Warren) Gray and Donny (Kim) Wilson; and a loving host of extended family, friends, acquaintances, and four-legged friends.

Barb is preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth "Ferd" Burkey; daughter, Lisa Nadine Burkey; son-in-law, Clif Chute; and brothers, David, Larry, and Kenny Wilson.

In accordance with Barb's wishes, cremation has been chosen and a private graveside service will take place at a later date. Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart has been assisting the family with arrangements.

Barb had a heart of gold and was deemed the "queen of the caretakers". She cared for her parents and siblings, children and grandchildren, and even babysat for children around the neighborhood throughout her life. Barb made a lasting impact on many people with her caring nature, especially her grandchildren whom she adored.

In her spare time, Barb enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She also enjoyed cooking and baking, particularly being famous for her apple cake.

Barb, along with her nurturing spirit and love, will be dearly missed by those whose hearts she touched throughout her life.
