ELKHART — Arthur N. "Art" DeMetz, 82, of Elkhart, passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, at Elkhart General Hospital.
Art was born, in Mishawaka, Nov. 25, 1934, to Julius A. and Florence I. (Robison) DeMetz.
Surviving are his children, Debra (Mike) Smith-Campbell, Douglas DeMetz, Della DeMetz and Danita DeMetz; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother John (Betty) DeMetz; and several nieces and nephews.
Art was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Julius DeMetz and sister Betty Jane DeMetz.
Art retired after 35 years with the Selmer Corp., where he worked as a lathe operator.
He enjoyed hunting, working on cars and riding motorcycles.
Private family visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 22, at Billings Funeral Home.
Committal services and burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in the chapel mausoleum.
