IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Arthur Ray
"Art" Duncan Iii
February 7, 1948 – November 27, 2023
Mr. Arthur Roy "Art" Duncan III, 75, of Elkhart, was discovered passed away at his home on Monday, November 27, 2023 at 6:35 pm. He had been in ill health.
He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on February 7, 1948 to the late Arthur Roy and Evelyn Ruth (Kieber) Duncan, Jr., and is survived by his brother Glenn L. (Diane) Duncan of Elkhart and his sister Susan (Robert) Duncan-Smith of Terra Ceia, Florida, as well as some extended family. Preceding him in death is his brother, Rex Duncan, Noblesville, Indiana.
In accordance with the family's wishes, Art is to be cremated and buried with his parents and other family members in Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville, Indiana in April.
Art was a U.S. Army veteran who served honorably in Germany and Thailand and also a graduate of the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. He worked for many years in television sales at the old Warner's TV Store in Elkhart, a job that also required him to travel quite a bit. Following that, he worked at Accra-Pac in Elkhart for a time until his retirement.
In his younger years, Art enjoyed downhill skiing, while in his later years he played, but by his own admission never quite mastered, the game of golf. Art was a quiet, reserved and personal man who, in his later years, relished his privacy more than anything. His preference was to remain cloistered within the peace and solitude of his own home; away from the interference from an ever intruding outside world. He was an avid animal lover with a real soft spot for animal shelter cats. He also always enjoyed watching IU basketball games. Not so much its football team.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Humane Society of Elkhart
