Obituary

Arlene Ann Simeri, 94, formerly of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. Arlene was born on December 13, 1930 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Steven and Agnes Phillips. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Albert James Simeri, sister Mary-Lou Fester, brother Don Phillips and her son Albert Rocco Simeri.

She is survived by her son Paul Simeri and wife Barbara, daughter-in-law Angie Simeri, and her daughter and caregiver Kimberly Simeri. Arlene also has eight loving grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

After graduating from South Bend Washington High School, she attended Indiana University South Bend, South Bend college of Commerce, and Indiana Vocational Technical College. She worked for Bendix Aviation Corp., as well as Associates Investment Company.

She married her true love and best friend Albert James Simeri on July 17, 1954. They lived in Elkhart, Indiana where they raised their three children. Arlene was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and the Rosary society. She was so proud to be a charter member of the Republican National Committee, and was also a member of the Elkhart Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge #599, and the Garden Club.

Arlene was an avid reader and coin collector. She enjoyed playing cards, games, and puzzles. She liked to travel and dance! She loved to cook and gather around the dinner table to share with family and friends.

Arlene's outlook on life was "live and let live" and she always said, "QUE SERA SERA" She will be missed by many.

All services for Mrs. Simeri will be private. Rev. Robert "Bob" VanKempen of St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church will officiate. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Albert in St. Vincent Cemetery,
