Arlene Joyce Hirschy, 77, of Elkhart, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Brickyard Healthcare in Elkhart. She was born on November 5, 1948, in Decatur, IN to Ellis and Rhoda (Baumgartner) Hirschy, who preceded her in death.

Arlene is survived by her son, Scott (Crystal) Friskney; three grandchildren, Jessica, McKayla, Breanne; and her brother, Maurice “Moe” Hirschy.

In accordance with Arlene’s wishes, cremation was chosen and will take place at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart. No services will be held at this time.

While Arlene was born in Decatur, IN she was raised in Berne, IN in the Mennonite faith. She devoted her life to God and Christ and enjoyed reading her bible and other Christian books to grow closer to her Lord and Savior. In her early years, Arlene learned to play the piano and enjoyed performing for others. She graduated at the top of her class with a bachelor’s degree and went on to briefly work in Medical Billing. Arlene enjoyed spending time with her family most of all, especially getting to watch her three beautiful granddaughters grow up over the years. She will be missed by her loving family.
